Responsibilities:
1. Provides friendly and engaged guest care at all times.
2. Prepares fresh fruits and vegetables and salads for the Fresh Cut area. Ensures quality, freshness, selection, and adequate quantity to meet customer demand. Sets up, maintains, and closes the Fresh Cut area according to Company procedures.
3. Stocks, dates, and rotates Fresh Cut products while controlling shrink and costs.
4. Orders, receives, checks, and controls inventory to ensure adequate quantity, quality, and freshness.
5. Implements correct product preparation techniques. Uses and operates related equipment such as slicers, wrapping machines, mixers, pallet jacks, hand truck, knives, safety cutters, scales, and garbage disposal.
6. Complies with all food and workplace safety rules and regulations.
7. Verifies pricing accuracy and additional display signs.
8. Ensures safety, cleanliness, and sanitation of work area, cooler, and equipment.
9. Assists guests by making product suggestions and engages in suggestive selling.
10. Responsible for rotation of merchandise and maintenance of displays ensuring our products meet our freshness guarantee at all times.
11. Store is open seven days a week and may require weekend, holiday and shift work.
Qualifications:
• Passion for serving people and creating a guest focused work environment.
• Math skills necessary, but not limited to calculating sales and discounts.
• Ability to work in cold/wet environment in order to clean and sanitize tools, pots/pans and utensils using cleaning chemicals and detergents without allergic reaction.
• Ability to work around food ingredients, produce and spices without allergic reaction.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate with guests and associates in professional and courteous manner. This includes answering telephone calls and using in-store intercom system.
• Must be at least 18 years of age due to equipment use and work environment.
• Current state Food Handler’s Permit may be required.
Work space will be primarily in refrigerated prep room with additional stocking/merchandising work occurring on the sales floor. Will be exposed to ice/wet areas. May be required to join a labor union.

The Entree Chef will elevate the Haggen Entree/Prepared Food program to category leadership in the community. They will assist with the development and preparation of entrees with a balanced approach to create a destination experience for our guests. Additionally, they will implement the corporate entree/prepared foods program while adding their unique skills to improve the overall go to market of entrees/prepared foods in the given location.

Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:
1. Will execute food production tasks using demonstrated knife and hot foods cookery skills.
2. Will assist in the development, costing and sourcing of fresh/local ingredients for new entree recipes.
3. Ensures execution of all entree/prepared food programs at store level.
4. Sustains and elevates level of knowledge/awareness of relevant competitors and industry trends.
5. Controls inventory and maintains current inventory list for department.
6. Keeps regular Purchase Journal.
7. Achieves consistent margin.
8. Works with Corporate leadership to coordinate priorities.
9. Coordinates validation, item authorization, sign making and all Entree related POS maintenance.
10. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
3 years sous chef experience in fine dining, catering business or upscale retail/grocery environment or equivalent combination of education and experience.
2 year Culinary Arts program certificate preferred.
Ability to comprehend, interpret and analyze instructions, correspondence, journals/articles, technical procedures, governmental regulations, financial reports, legal documents, packing lists, manifests, pick sheets/fulfillment orders, inventory count sheets, movement/volume reports.
Ability to create effective written correspondence.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions in one-on-one interaction, as well as in meetings/groups where individual participation/presentation may involve guests, associates, Store/Corporate Leadership.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide, calculate percentages, interpret and create graphs, apply concepts of algebra and geometry, determine test reliability and validity, analyze variance.
Ability to use Microsoft Office suite.
Work hours will vary to meet business needs on both weekday and weekend days and covering 5 days per week. Position requires flexibility for all shifts and all schedules.
Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Exceptional communication skills are a primary need with strong organizational skill and follow through.
Must be at least 18 years of age due to equipment use and work environment.
Current State Food Handler™s Permit must be maintained.
